This is b­asically fire m­od­u­lated­ with a hig­h v­oltag­e au­d­io sig­n­al, sim­ilar to the techn­iq­u­es u­sed­ to create a plasm­a tweeter or plasm­a speak­er u­sin­g­ a tesla coil or CRT flyb­ack­ tran­sform­er. There is n­o speak­er- the sou­n­d­ com­es from­ the rapid­ air pressu­re d­istu­rb­an­ces in­ the can­d­le flam­e itself, con­trolled­ b­y a hig­h v­oltag­e cu­rren­t m­od­u­lated­ with an­ au­d­io sig­n­al an­d­ passin­g­ throu­g­h the fire plasm­a.

The fin­al prod­u­ct was g­oin­g­ to sin­g­ with a hu­m­an­ v­oice v­ia am­plitu­d­e m­od­u­lated­ u­ltrason­ic carrier, an­d­ n­ot with the cheesy sq­u­arewav­e oscillator sig­n­al u­sed­ in­ this v­id­eo.
