    Here is a video that shows the opposite of what you want to do:

    Excel Magic Trick #152: Extract records w Field Not Blank

    One way to do what you want is to add a new column to the data set with a formula with a relative cell reference that looks in the Purpose Field and asks “is it blanks?”. A formula like this would work:

    purpose cell=”"

    Then run Advanced Filter that looks for TRUEs.

    If the criteria is an empty cell how do I do?For instance I am interested in those individuals do not have anything in the purpose column! Anyway the video is more than interesting and useful in the same time. Tips as ctrl + * or clean the name manager after we use advenced filter are gold.
